Forest River Sunseeker Recall 20V358: Parking Function May Fail, Allowing Vehicle to Roll Away

NHTSA campaign 20V358, reported June 16, 2020, 392 vehicles potentially affected.

What this recall means for you

The owner's manual for these motorhomes built on Sprinter chassis with automatic transmissions does not correctly describe when the automatic parking function (Auto-P) works. If a driver relies on Auto-P as the manual describes, the vehicle may roll or move when it should be held in place, raising the risk of a crash.

Forest River will notify owners, and Mercedes-Benz dealers will provide a corrected description of the Auto-P function for the operator's manual at no cost. The booklet with the correct information is also available online through Mercedes-Benz, free of charge. Until you have the correct information, do not rely on Auto-P alone to keep the vehicle parked; use the parking brake and shift to park as appropriate.

Owners can contact Forest River customer service at 1-800-348-7440 or Sprinter service at 1-877-762-8267. You can also check your VIN for open recalls.
