Ford Focus Recall 20V331: Door May Not Latch Securely and Could Open While Driving

What this recall means for you

A component in the door latches can break, making a door difficult to latch or causing the driver or a passenger to think a door is closed when it is not. This affects vehicles that were previously repaired under earlier recalls, where the repair may not have been completed correctly.

A door that is not securely latched could open while the vehicle is in motion, which increases the risk of injury to occupants. Owners will be notified, and the repair is free of charge. Dealers will inspect the latch date codes to confirm whether the earlier repair was done correctly and will replace the side door latches if necessary. Owners can also check their own door latch date codes on a Ford website to see whether their latches are correct.
