Forest River Avenger Recall 20V330: Trailer Safety Chains May Detach, Risking Separation

NHTSA campaign 20V330, reported June 8, 2020, 73 vehicles potentially affected.

What this recall means for you

Safety chains on certain 2021 travel trailers may have been attached incorrectly, so they may not properly help keep the trailer connected to the tow vehicle. If the trailer separates from the tow vehicle, the chains may break, which could lead to complete detachment, property damage, personal injury, or a crash.

Forest River will notify affected owners. A dealer or service center will install the missing safety chain attaching hardware at no cost to you. Owners can contact Forest River customer service at 1-574-862-1025 and reference recall number 51-1163. You can also check your vehicle identification number (VIN) for any open recalls.
