Keystone Springdale Recall 20V320: Trailer Axle and Tires Undersized, Crash Risk

NHTSA campaign 20V320, reported June 1, 2020, 41 vehicles potentially affected.

What this recall means for you

Some trailers were built with 4400-pound axles and ST225/75R15D tires and rims instead of the 5200-pound axles and ST225/75R15E tires and rims listed on the Federal Identification Tag. The mismatch means the trailer may be overloaded, which increases the risk of a crash.

If you own an affected trailer, the manufacturer will notify you directly. Authorized dealers will replace the 4400-pound axles, the D-rated tires, and the rims with 5200-pound axles, E-rated tires, and matching rims. The repair is free. You can also contact Keystone RV Company customer service at 1-866-425-4369 and reference recall number 20-379.

You can check whether your trailer has any open recalls by entering its VIN on the NHTSA recall lookup site.
