Vac-Tron CS 870 GT Recall 20V288: Trailer Lights and Reflectors May Be Misplaced, Reducing Visibility

NHTSA campaign 20V288, reported May 20, 2020, 104 vehicles potentially affected.

What this recall means for you

Certain vacuum excavator trailers may have front clearance lamps mounted in the wrong position, too little conspicuity tape on the sides and rear, or no side or rear reflex reflectors. These trailers do not meet Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard 108 for lamps and reflective devices. Because other drivers may not see the trailer clearly, especially at night or in poor conditions, the risk of a crash is increased.

Vac-Tron will notify owners, and Vermeer dealers will install remedy kits provided by Vac-Tron at no cost to you. Contact Vac-Tron customer service at 1-352-728-2222 for more information, and reference recall number VVK0007. You can also check your trailer's VIN for open recalls on the NHTSA website.
