Dodge Grand Caravan Recall 20V278: Fuel Pump Gasket May Leak Fuel, Creating Fire Risk

NHTSA campaign 20V278, reported May 15, 2020, 122 vehicles potentially affected.

What this recall means for you

Certain 2016-2019 Dodge Grand Caravan vehicles that were modified by Vantage Mobility International may have a fuel pump gasket that deteriorates over time. When the gasket fails, fuel can leak out of the fuel system.

A fuel leak near an ignition source can increase the risk of a vehicle fire. If you own a affected vehicle, take the recall seriously and do not ignore signs of a fuel smell or visible fuel leakage around the fuel tank area.

Vantage will notify owners and will provide parts and reimbursement to repair facilities so the fuel tank gasket can be replaced free of charge. Owners may contact Vantage customer service at 1-800-488-9082. You can also check your VIN for open recalls to confirm whether your vehicle is affected.
