Terex TL80 Recall 20V240: Aerial Lift May Tip if Used on Uneven Ground

NHTSA campaign 20V240, reported April 29, 2020, 43 vehicles potentially affected.

What this recall means for you

The slope indicator and decals on certain 2019-2020 Terex TL80 and TL80/112 aerial devices incorrectly state that the chassis can be up to 5 degrees out of level during aerial device use. Following this incorrect guidance could leave the unit in an unstable condition.

If the aerial device is operated with the chassis out of level, it may tip over. This increases the risk of injury to the operator and to anyone nearby. Until the repair is done, do not rely on the existing slope indicator or decals to judge whether the chassis is level enough to operate safely.

Terex will notify owners, and authorized dealers will replace the incorrect slope indicator and decals at no cost. Owners can contact Terex customer service at 1-605-882-4000 and reference recall number SN685. Check your vehicle's VIN for open recalls.
