NHTSA campaign 20V227, reported April 21, 2020, 149 vehicles potentially affected.

What this recall means for you

The emergency call system (eCall) communication module in certain vehicles may be missing a ground line in its wiring harness. As a result, the system may send an inaccurate vehicle location, or it may limit your ability to speak with the call center.

If an emergency occurs, an incorrect location or a failed voice connection could delay emergency responders from reaching you, which raises the risk of injury.

Mercedes-Benz USA will notify affected owners, and authorized dealers will repair the communication module's wiring harness free of charge. You can contact Mercedes-Benz USA customer service at 1-800-367-6372 and reference recall number 2020060010. You can also check your VIN for open recalls on the NHTSA website.
