What this recall means for you
A rear hatch wire harness connector may have been damaged during assembly. If that happens, the back-up lights can fail to work, leaving drivers without that signal while reversing.
Without working back-up lights, other drivers and pedestrians may not see the vehicle backing up, which increases the risk of a crash while the car is in reverse. Toyota will notify affected owners.
The repair is free: an authorized dealer will replace the rear hatch wire harness at no cost. To check whether your vehicle is included, look up your VIN for open recalls, or call Toyota customer service at 1-888-270-9371.
