Terex Digger Derrick Recall 20V200: Engine may not shut off remotely during hydraulic problems, risking injury

NHTSA campaign 20V200, reported April 7, 2020, 20 vehicles potentially affected.

What this recall means for you

Certain 2018 and 2019 Digger Derrick trucks have an engine computer programming error. If the hood switch fails or opens, the remote engine start/stop function is disabled. This means the operator may be unable to shut the engine off remotely when a hydraulic problem occurs on the digger.

Because the operator cannot quickly stop the engine during hydraulic trouble, the risk of injury is increased.

Owners will be notified by Terex. The engine computer program will be reprogrammed by dealers at no cost to you. You can contact Terex customer service at 1-605-882-4000 and reference recall SN682. You should also check your vehicle's VIN for any open recalls.
