Coachmen Orion Recall 20V158: Shifter cable can detach, causing unintended vehicle movement

NHTSA campaign 20V158, reported March 19, 2020, 60 vehicles potentially affected.

What this recall means for you

The gear shift cable in certain vans and motorhomes may separate from the transmission. When this happens, the shift lever may not match the transmission's actual gear, so the driver may not know which gear the vehicle is in and unintended movement can occur.

Unintended vehicle movement increases the risk of a crash. Owners should check their vehicle's VIN for open recalls and contact an authorized dealer to schedule the repair.

The transmission shift cable will be replaced free of charge at an authorized dealer. For questions, contact Forest River customer service at 1-800-348-7440 or Chrysler (FCA) Ram Trucks at 1-866-726-4636.
