Triple E RV Wonder Recall 20V134: Wiring May Chafe and Arc, Creating Fire Risk

NHTSA campaign 20V134, reported March 6, 2020, 10 vehicles potentially affected.

What this recall means for you

On certain travel trailers, the 12V ceiling pot light wires pass through aluminum tubing without a grommet to protect them. Over time, the wires can rub against the metal edges, chafe, and arc. Arcing wires can increase the risk of a fire.

If you own an affected trailer, contact Triple E customer service at 1-877-992-9906 or visit an authorized dealer. Dealers will protect the ceiling pot light wiring with split tubing or install a grommet where the wire passes the metal edges, and the repair is free of charge. Triple E's campaign number for this recall is CA#9643-1.

You can also check your vehicle identification number (VIN) for any open recalls to confirm whether your trailer needs this or other repairs.
