Forest River Shasta Recall 20V119: Tires May Rub Wheel Wells, Risking Blowout and Crash

NHTSA campaign 20V119, reported February 28, 2020, 38 vehicles potentially affected.

What this recall means for you

Certain 2020 Shasta trailers may have too little clearance inside the wheel well. The tire can contact the inside of the wheel well, which may lead to tire failure.

A tire failure can cause a loss of vehicle control and increases the risk of a crash. Owners should stop using the trailer if they notice rubbing, unusual noise, or visible tire damage until it has been inspected.

The repair is free at an authorized dealer: equalizers will be replaced with taller ones, and any tire showing evidence of damage will be replaced. Forest River will notify owners, or you can contact Forest River customer service at 1-574-821-1311 (recall number 53-1144). You can also check your VIN for open recalls.
