Altec L42M Recall 20V115: Pedestal Bolts May Fail, Risking Separation and Injury

NHTSA campaign 20V115, reported February 27, 2020, 238 vehicles potentially affected.

What this recall means for you

Certain 2019 aerial devices have high strength fasteners that secure the pedestal to the turntable, and these fasteners may break.

If the fasteners fail, the pedestal can separate from the turntable. This increases the risk of injury or death for operators and anyone nearby.

Altec will notify owners and will inspect the fasteners and replace them if needed, at no cost. Owners can contact Altec customer service at 1-877-462-5832 (campaign CSN 750), and you can check your VIN for open recalls.
