Nissan Versa Recall 20V112: Fuel tank may leak and cause fire if filled over half full

NHTSA campaign 20V112, reported February 26, 2020, 46 vehicles potentially affected.

What this recall means for you

Some 2020 Nissan Versa vehicles may have a fuel tank with insufficient wall thickness due to a manufacturing problem. This can leave a small hole in the tank seam area.

If a hole is present and the tank is filled more than half full, fuel may leak out, which increases the risk of a fire. Until the repair is done, avoid filling your fuel tank over half full.

Nissan will notify affected owners, and authorized dealers will replace the fuel tank free of charge. You can check whether your vehicle is included by entering your VIN at the NHTSA recall lookup, or contact Nissan customer service at 1-800-867-7669.
