SMC Laramie Recall 20V096: Wrong tire pressure label could lead to tire failure

NHTSA campaign 20V096, reported February 20, 2020, 35 vehicles potentially affected.

What this recall means for you

Certain 2019 and 2020 Laramie trailers have a federal placard listing an incorrect tire pressure (PSI). Following the label could leave the tires overinflated, which means the tires may fail and the trailer may not comply with federal certification requirements.

Overtinflated tires that are inflated to the maximum pressure shown on the label could fail, which increases the risk of a crash. If you own one of these trailers, do not rely on the current placard for tire pressure until it has been corrected.

SMC Trailers will notify owners, and authorized dealers will install new placards showing the correct PSI at no cost to you. You can contact SMC Trailers customer service at 1-574-966-5598, and you should also check your VIN for any open recalls.
