Jayco Seismic Recall 20V091: Trailer Axles Underrated, Risking Overload and Loss of Control

NHTSA campaign 20V091, reported February 17, 2020, 146 vehicles potentially affected.

What this recall means for you

Certain 2013-2015 Jayco Fifth Wheel Seismic and 2015 Pinnacle trailers were built with 6,000 lb capacity rear axles instead of the 7,000 lb axles the design calls for. Because the axles are underrated, the trailer can be overloaded, which may cause the driver to lose control of the vehicle and increases the risk of a crash.

If you own one of these trailers, Jayco will notify you directly. Authorized dealers will replace the axles and leaf springs at no cost to you. You can contact Jayco customer service at 1-800-517-9137 and reference Jayco recall number 9901506. You should also check your vehicle identification number (VIN) for any open recalls.
