Mercedes-Benz GLC 300 Recall 19V914: Passenger Visor Air Bag Warning May Be in Wrong Language

NHTSA campaign 19V914, reported December 20, 2019, 10,041 vehicles potentially affected.

What this recall means for you

The passenger side sun visor may carry air bag warning labels printed in a foreign language instead of English. Because of this, the vehicle does not fully meet federal occupant crash protection requirements.

If the warning label is not readable, an occupant may not understand the risks of the passenger air bag, especially to children seated in the front. That lack of awareness could increase the risk of injury in a crash.

The remedy is free. Dealers will inspect the air bag warnings and replace them if needed. Owners will be notified by Mercedes-Benz USA, or they can call customer service at 1-800-367-6372 (recall number 2020020014). You can also check your VIN for open recalls.
