Mercedes-Benz GLE 450 Recall 19V867: Third-Row Headrests May Not Protect Occupants in a Crash

NHTSA campaign 19V867, reported December 6, 2019, 1 vehicles potentially affected.

What this recall means for you

Certain 2020 Mercedes-Benz GLE 450 SUVs have third-row headrests that may have been built with insufficient padding, and a securing rod that may fail to hold the headrest in place. This can affect how the headrest adjusts and operates.

If the headrest is not properly positioned or secured, it may not protect the third-row occupant in a crash, which increases the risk of injury. Owners of affected vehicles should check whether their VIN has an open recall.

Mercedes-Benz USA will replace the third-row headrests on affected vehicles free of charge at an authorized dealer. Owners can contact Mercedes-Benz USA customer service at 1-800-367-6372 for more information.
