Arcimoto FUV Recall 19V791: Wiring Short Can Cut Power and Raise Crash Risk

NHTSA campaign 19V791, reported November 5, 2019, 13 vehicles potentially affected.

What this recall means for you

The high-voltage wiring harness may have braided shielding that can short against an energized component. When this happens, a main fuse can blow, causing a loss of traction power.

Losing power while driving can increase the risk of a crash. If your vehicle loses power unexpectedly, take safe steps to pull over when it is possible to do so, and have it checked before driving it again.

The repair is free. Dealers will inspect the harness and replace it if necessary, at no charge. Owners will be notified by the manufacturer, which began sending notices on January 17, 2020. You can also contact Arcimoto customer service at 1-541-683-6293, and check your VIN for any open recalls.
