Horton Type I Recall 19V742: Loose oxygen tank bracket can make tank fly loose in a crash

NHTSA campaign 19V742, reported October 17, 2019, 11 vehicles potentially affected.

What this recall means for you

On certain 2018 and 2019 Horton Type I and Type III ambulances, the bracket that holds the D-cylinder oxygen tank may loosen. If that happens, the tank can separate from the vehicle and become airborne during a crash.

An unsecured oxygen tank can strike ambulance occupants, which increases the risk of injury in a crash. Owners of affected vehicles should contact Halcore customer service at 1-800-447-0343. Halcore will notify owners, and the remedy is free: either a refund of the purchase price paid, or replacement bracket assemblies, provided by Ziamatic. The recall began November 7, 2019.

You can also check your vehicle identification number (VIN) for open recalls to see whether your ambulance is affected.
