Cadillac CT6 Recall 19V731: Low tire pressure warning may not light up, raising crash risk

NHTSA campaign 19V731, reported October 15, 2019, 81 vehicles potentially affected.

What this recall means for you

Certain 2020 vehicles with dealer-installed 20-inch accessory wheels have tire pressure monitoring sensors that use the wrong wireless radio frequency. Because of this, the low tire pressure warning light may not illuminate when a tire's pressure drops below the recommended level. The vehicles therefore do not meet Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard 138 for tire pressure monitoring systems.

Driving with underinflated tires without a warning can affect handling and increase the risk of a crash. Drivers may not realize a tire is losing pressure, so it is important to check your tires regularly with a gauge rather than relying on the warning light alone.

GM will notify affected owners, and an authorized dealer will replace all four tire pressure monitoring sensors with the correct sensors at no cost. Owners can contact GM customer service at 1-586-596-1733, quoting recall number N192279200, and can check their vehicle identification number for open recalls.

Problem
General Motors LLC (GM) is recalling certain 2020 Cadillac CT6 vehicles equipped with dealer-installed accessory 20" x 8.50" wheels (RPO 5JO or SHH).
