Volvo Bus 9700 Recall 19V724: Seat Belts May Not Hold Passengers in a Crash

NHTSA campaign 19V724, reported October 9, 2019, 34 vehicles potentially affected.

What this recall means for you

Passenger seat belt anchorages in certain vehicles may not be strong enough to secure the seat belts and keep occupants restrained during a crash. This does not meet the federal seat belt anchorage standard (FMVSS 210). If a crash occurs and a passenger is not properly restrained, the risk of injury is increased.

Owners will be notified by Volvo Bus. Dealers will add reinforcement to the passenger seats at no cost to the owner. The recall began December 11, 2019. Owners can contact Volvo Bus customer service at 1-866-870-2046, and should check their vehicle identification number (VIN) for open recalls.
