What this recall means for you
The lower control arm ball joint fasteners on certain vehicles may not have been tightened enough during assembly. Over time, the ball joint can separate from the lower control arm, affecting the front suspension.
If the ball joint detaches, the driver can lose control of the vehicle, which raises the risk of a crash. Owners should take this recall seriously and have the vehicle checked as soon as possible.
Hyundai will notify affected owners. Authorized dealers will inspect the ball joint fasteners and tighten them as needed, at no cost to you. You can also contact Hyundai customer service at 1-855-371-9460 (recall number 185) and check your VIN for open recalls.
