What this recall means for you
Some 2019 Ioniq Hybrid and 2020 Elantra vehicles may have the right-side rear wheel lug nuts insufficiently tightened. Over time, this can allow the wheel to come loose and detach from the vehicle.
A wheel detaching while the vehicle is moving raises the risk of a crash. Owners should not ignore warning signs such as unusual vibration, grinding, or a wheel that appears uneven or out of place.
Hyundai will notify affected owners. Dealers will inspect the lug nuts and tighten them if necessary, at no cost to you. To check whether your vehicle is included, enter your VIN for open recalls, or contact Hyundai customer service at 1-800-251-0871 and reference recall number 184.
