Chevrolet Equinox Recall 19V667: Fuel Tank Seam Can Leak, Raising Fire Risk

NHTSA campaign 19V667, reported September 19, 2019, 301 vehicles potentially affected.

What this recall means for you

Some tanks in these vehicles may have been made with a seam that was not sealed properly. Over time, fuel could leak along that seam near the fuel inlet.

If fuel leaks near an ignition source, the risk of a fire increases. Watch for the smell of fuel around the vehicle or fuel stains under it, and have the vehicle checked promptly if you notice either.

The repair is free: an authorized Chevrolet dealer will replace the fuel tank at no cost. GM will also notify owners directly. You can check whether your VIN has any open recalls on the NHTSA website or contact GM customer service at 1-586-596-1733.
