Mercedes-Benz Metris Recall 19V666: Front Head Restraints May Detach in a Crash

NHTSA campaign 19V666, reported September 18, 2019, 29 vehicles potentially affected.

What this recall means for you

Some front seat head restraints may have been built without a spring pin, or with one that was improperly mounted. This can let the upholstery carrier come loose from the head restraint housing.

If the upholstery carrier separates, the head restraint is less effective at protecting occupants, which increases the risk of injury in a crash.

Mercedes-Benz dealers will replace the head restraints free of charge. Owners who want more information can contact Daimler Vans USA customer service at 1-877-762-8267 and reference recall number VS2KOPFSTU. You can also check your vehicle's VIN for open recalls.
