Terex TLM Recall 19V659: Boom May Drift Down If Hose Bursts Under Load

NHTSA campaign 19V659, reported September 17, 2019, 42 vehicles potentially affected.

What this recall means for you

Certain 2016 and 2017 Terex TLM aerial-device vehicles were built with an incorrect holding valve on the base end of the upper boom cylinder. If the hose for the upper boom raise function bursts while the boom is at maximum load and maximum side reach, the boom may drift down.

Uncontrolled movement of the boom can increase the risk of injury. Owners should stop using the aerial device if they notice unexpected boom movement and contact Terex before further use.

The repair is free: authorized dealers will replace the base end holding valve on the upper boom lift cylinder at no charge. Terex will notify affected owners, but you can also contact Terex customer service at 1-844-837-3948 and check your VIN for open recalls.
