RAM 2500 Recall 19V635: Brake Calipers May Swell and Cause Brakes to Drag

NHTSA campaign 19V635, reported August 29, 2019, 5,495 vehicles potentially affected.

What this recall means for you

Some brake calipers on these trucks may have been built with the wrong assembly fluid. This can make the rubber seals inside the calipers swell, which may cause the brakes to stay partially applied, or drag, even when the driver is not pressing the pedal.

Dragging brakes can overheat the brakes and raise the risk of a crash.

Owners should contact FCA US customer service at 1-800-853-1403 or take their vehicle to an authorized dealer. The dealer will replace the front brake calipers and brake hoses and bleed the brakes at no cost. You can also check your vehicle identification number (VIN) for open recalls.
