Thomas Built Buses Minotour Recall 19V620: School Buses May Lack Backup Cameras, Raising Crash Risk

NHTSA campaign 19V620, reported August 22, 2019, 11 vehicles potentially affected.

What this recall means for you

Certain 2019-2020 Thomas Built Minotour school buses may be missing backup cameras. Because of this, the buses do not meet Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard 111 for rearview mirrors, which governs rear visibility.

Without a backup camera, the driver has reduced rear visibility, which increases the risk of a crash. Owners will be notified by Daimler Trucks North America (DTNA).

The remedy is free: an authorized dealer will install a backup camera system at no cost to you. For questions, contact DTNA customer service at 1-800-547-0712. Check your vehicle's VIN for open recalls to confirm whether your bus is affected.
