Peterbilt 337 Recall 19V618: Steering Column May Separate, Causing Loss of Steering

NHTSA campaign 19V618, reported August 22, 2019, 109 vehicles potentially affected.

What this recall means for you

A weld in the steering shaft may be in the wrong location and can crack over time. The lower steering shaft inside the steering column may then separate from its mating yoke.

If the steering column separates from the yoke, the driver can lose steering control, which raises the risk of a crash. Owners should take this seriously and arrange service promptly.

Dealers will inspect the steering column and replace it if necessary, at no cost to the owner. Contact PACCAR customer service at 1-940-591-422 (PACCAR recall number 19PBD), and check your VIN for any open recalls.
