Kenworth T270 Recall 19V606: Loose Brake Valve Fittings Can Cause Reduced Braking

NHTSA campaign 19V606, reported August 16, 2019, 139 vehicles potentially affected.

What this recall means for you

Some trucks may have loose compression fittings on the brake treadle valves. Over time, this can allow the air supply hose to separate from the valve.

If a hose separates, braking ability can be reduced, which raises the risk of a crash. Owners should not ignore brake warning signs and should have the issue checked promptly.

The repair is free at an authorized Kenworth dealer. Dealers will inspect the brake treadle valve hose connections and tighten any loose compression fittings as needed. Owners can also contact Kenworth customer service at 1-425-828-5888, and should check their VIN for open recalls.
