Winnebago Fuse Recall 19V568: Wheels May Loosen and Detach, Raising Crash Risk

NHTSA campaign 19V568, reported August 1, 2019, 112 vehicles potentially affected.

What this recall means for you

Certain motorhomes built on a 2018 Ford Transit chassis and equipped with aluminum wheels (feature code 63W) may have wheel studs that are too long. Because of this, the lug nuts cannot be properly tightened to secure the wheels.

Wheels that cannot be torqued properly may loosen and detach while the vehicle is in use, which increases the risk of a crash.

Winnebago will notify affected owners, and authorized dealers will replace the wheel studs with a shorter version at no cost to you. The recall began August 23, 2019. You can contact Winnebago customer service at 1-641-585-6939 or 1-800-537-1885, referencing recall number 159. You can also check your vehicle identification number (VIN) for any open recalls.
