Hino NE8J Recall 19V564: Side mirror glass can detach, reducing driver visibility

NHTSA campaign 19V564, reported July 31, 2019, 1,531 vehicles potentially affected.

What this recall means for you

Certain 2020 commercial trucks have exterior mirror glass that was improperly bonded to its mirror carrier plate. Over time the glass may separate from the plate, leaving the driver with less view of the road beside and behind the vehicle.

Reduced visibility raises the risk of a crash. Owners will be notified by mail, and an authorized dealer will replace the mirrors at no cost. Hino customer service can be reached at 1-248-699-9390 with questions about the recall.

If you own one of these vehicles, check whether it has an open recall by entering its VIN on the NHTSA recall lookup, and contact your dealer to schedule the free mirror replacement.
