Mercedes-Benz Metris Recall 19V545: Wrong Owner's Manual Could Raise Crash Risk

NHTSA campaign 19V545, reported July 24, 2019, 2 vehicles potentially affected.

What this recall means for you

Certain vehicles were delivered with a printed operator's manual that does not match the vehicle's features and operating instructions. Because the manual may not correctly describe how the vehicle should be operated, following it could increase the risk of a crash.

If your vehicle is affected, the manufacturer will notify you, and authorized dealers will replace the information package free of charge. This includes the printed operator's manual, the maintenance booklet, and information sheets. You can also contact the manufacturer's customer service at 1-877-762-8267 and reference recall number VS2BAFV.

We recommend checking your vehicle identification number (VIN) for any open recalls and confirming the correct manual is in your glovebox. Until you have the updated information, review the features of your vehicle carefully and rely on the vehicle's onboard information where possible.
