What this recall means for you
An exterior storage compartment door on certain motorhomes may unexpectedly open while the vehicle is moving. The door's latch can fail to hold it closed, and the door or items falling out of the compartment can then strike or distract other drivers.
If the door opens in traffic, other drivers may swerve to avoid it or the objects falling from inside, which raises the risk of a crash. Owners should check whether their motorhome is covered and stop using the affected compartment until the repair is done.
The repair is free at an authorized dealer: the latch will be replaced, and the catch will be inspected and realigned or readjusted if needed. Owners can contact Winnebago customer service at 1-641-585-6939 or 1-800-537-1885, and should also check their VIN for any open recalls.
