Forest River Georgetown Recall 19V481: Slide-Room Can Move Unexpectedly, Risking Injury

NHTSA campaign 19V481, reported June 21, 2019, 688 vehicles potentially affected.

What this recall means for you

Certain motorhomes may have slim-rack slide-out mechanisms that activate on their own, causing the slide room to extend or retract without the driver or occupant intending it. A slide room that moves unexpectedly creates a higher risk of injury to people nearby.

Forest River will notify owners of affected vehicles. Dealers will replace the slide-out controller and switch at no cost to the owner. The recall is expected to begin July 31, 2019.

If you own an affected motorhome, contact Forest River at 1-574-206-7600 and reference recall number 68-0991, or take your vehicle to an authorized dealer for the free repair. You can also check your VIN for open recalls.
