IC Bus CE Recall 19V479: Seat Belt Buckle May Crack and Fail to Latch in a Crash

NHTSA campaign 19V479, reported June 21, 2019, 9 vehicles potentially affected.

What this recall means for you

Over time, repeatedly buckling and unbuckling the seat belt can cause the plastic fingers on the male part of the buckle to crack and fall off. When this happens, the buckle may take excessive force to fasten, and in a crash the belt may not latch or properly restrain a passenger, increasing the risk of injury.

Owners will be notified by mail. The seat belt assemblies will be replaced free of charge by an authorized dealer. Owners may also contact Navistar customer service at 1-800-448-7825. Check your vehicle's VIN for open recalls to confirm whether your bus is affected.
