Forest River R-Pod Recall 19V356: Wiring Can Melt and Cause a Fire in Travel Trailers

NHTSA campaign 19V356, reported May 10, 2019, 1,346 vehicles potentially affected.

What this recall means for you

Some travel trailers have the refrigerator's spark igniter wire connected to a 30-amp circuit breaker instead of the 15-amp circuit it should use. Because the breaker allows more current than the wire can safely carry, the wire can melt, which raises the risk of a fire.

If your trailer is affected, Forest River will notify you directly. An authorized dealer will move the wire from the 30-amp circuit to the designated 15-amp circuit at no cost to you. You can also contact Forest River customer service at 1-574-642-3119. Check your vehicle identification number (VIN) for open recalls to confirm whether your trailer is included.
