Kenworth T680 Recall 19V340: Mirror Glass May Detach, Reducing Visibility and Creating Road Hazard

NHTSA campaign 19V340, reported May 1, 2019, 3,907 vehicles potentially affected.

What this recall means for you

Certain heavy-duty trucks may have upper mirror glass that can separate from the mirror carrier plate because of inadequate adhesion. If the glass detaches, the driver may lose visibility, and the loose glass can become a road hazard that may strike another vehicle or a pedestrian, increasing the risk of a crash or injury.

If you own an affected vehicle, contact an authorized dealer to have the upper mirror glass and mirror carrier inspected. The dealer will replace them as necessary at no cost to you. Owners of Kenworth vehicles may call PACCAR customer service at 1-425-828-5888, and owners of Peterbilt vehicles may call 1-940-591-4220. Check your vehicle identification number (VIN) for open recalls to confirm whether your truck is included.
