Mitsubishi Mirage G4 Recall 19V330: Air bags may be disabled by road vibrations

NHTSA campaign 19V330, reported April 26, 2019, 26,016 vehicles potentially affected.

What this recall means for you

The internal acceleration sensor in the airbag control module can mistake vibrations from rough roads or a flat tire for a malfunction. When that happens, the system turns off all of the vehicle's air bags.

Air bags that do not deploy in a crash raise the risk of injury to occupants. Owners should have the software fixed as soon as possible.

An authorized dealer will reprogram the airbag control module software at no charge. You can also check your VIN for open recalls and contact Mitsubishi Motors North America customer service at 1-888-648-7820, referencing recall SR-19-001.
