Jaguar F-Type Recall 19V326: Passenger Airbag May Wrongly Deploy Against a Child

NHTSA campaign 19V326, reported April 25, 2019, 7,060 vehicles potentially affected.

What this recall means for you

A wiring connector linking the seatbelt tension sensor to the occupant classification module may not have been wired correctly. As a result, the system may not accurately tell whether an adult or a child is in the front passenger seat.

In a crash severe enough to deploy the airbags, the front passenger airbag could deploy even when a child is seated there, increasing the risk of injury to that child. This recall covers certain 2014-2015 Jaguar F-Type vehicles that were previously repaired under an earlier recall.

Owners will be notified by Jaguar. Authorized dealers will inspect the seatbelt assembly and repair the seatbelt tension sensor harness as needed, at no cost to you. You can contact Jaguar customer service at 1-800-452-4827 and reference recall H208. You can also check your vehicle identification number (VIN) for open recalls.

Problem
Jaguar Land Rover North America, LLC (Jaguar Land Rover) is recalling certain 2014-2015 Jaguar F-TYPE vehicles previously remedied under Recall 14V-714. Risk
