Acura MDX Recall 19V256: Moisture Can Cause Taillights to Fail, Reducing Visibility

NHTSA campaign 19V256, reported March 28, 2019, 322,897 vehicles potentially affected.

What this recall means for you

Certain Acura MDX and MDX Sport Hybrid vehicles may allow moisture to enter the tailgate lid lights. This can cause the tailgate lid lights and the taillights to stop working.

When the taillights are lost, the vehicle is less visible to other drivers, which increases the risk of a crash.

Acura will notify owners. Authorized dealers will modify the tailgate lid lights and install updated gaskets and a wiring sub-harness, or replace both tailgate lid lights. The repair is free of charge. Owners can contact Acura customer service at 1-888-234-2138 (recall M49), and should check their VIN for any open recalls.
