Osage Brave Recall 19V221: Brake lights may glow without the pedal pressed

NHTSA campaign 19V221, reported March 20, 2019, 173 vehicles potentially affected.

What this recall means for you

Certain Osage Brave, Warrior and Super Warrior ambulances from model years 2015 through 2017 are equipped with Whelen brake lights that, depending on how the vehicle is wired, may illuminate even when the brake pedal is not being pressed.

The risk is that other drivers may be confused by brake lights that come on when you are not braking. That confusion could lead them to misjudge your speed or intentions, which increases the chance of a crash.

Osage Industries will notify affected owners, and Whelen will supply replacement brake lights at no cost. Owners can contact Osage Industries customer service at 1-573-897-3113, and you can check your vehicle's VIN for open recalls.
