EBY Maverick Recall 19V186: Trailer Axle Bearings May Overheat, Causing Fire or Failure

NHTSA campaign 19V186, reported March 8, 2019, 35 vehicles potentially affected.

What this recall means for you

Certain 2019-2020 EBY gooseneck livestock trailers equipped with Dexter 8,000 and 10,000 pound axles may have had their inner wheel bearings improperly greased at the factory. Without proper lubrication, the wheel hub can overheat and smoke, which raises the risk of a fire, or the bearing can fail, affecting handling and increasing the risk of a crash.

If you own one of these trailers, contact a Dexter Axle dealer to have the axle bearings properly lubricated, as necessary. The repair is free of charge. M H EBY will also notify owners directly and can be reached at 1-717-354-1458. Check your vehicle identification number (VIN) for open recalls to confirm whether your trailer is affected.
