Highland Ridge TT Mesa Ridge Recall 19V168: Trailer label rating error could lead to overloading and crash risk

NHTSA campaign 19V168, reported March 6, 2019, 74 vehicles potentially affected.

What this recall means for you

The GVWR shown on the label of certain 2019 travel trailers is 7,675 lbs, but the safety chain rating is 7,600 lbs. The label therefore overstates the trailer's allowed loaded weight relative to the chains.

If the trailer is loaded to the labeled weight, it could be overloaded beyond what the safety chains are rated for. This may cause loss of vehicle control and increase the risk of a crash.

The remedy is free. Highland RV has notified owners and will provide corrected labels at no cost. To arrange a replacement, contact Highland RV customer service at 1-260-768-7771 and reference recall number 9904427. You can also check your vehicle identification number (VIN) for any open recalls.
