Porsche Cayenne Recall 19V111: Rearview camera image may display late, raising crash risk

NHTSA campaign 19V111, reported February 21, 2019, 98 vehicles potentially affected.

What this recall means for you

A software failure can cause the rearview camera image to be delayed in responding on certain vehicles. Because the display may not show what is behind the car in real time, the vehicle does not fully comply with Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard 111 for rearview mirrors and devices.

A rearview camera that does not work as designed can reduce the driver's view of what is behind the vehicle, which increases the risk of a crash, especially while backing up.

Porsche will notify owners, and authorized dealers will update the related software at no cost to you. Owners can contact Porsche customer service at 1-800-767-7243. You can also check your vehicle identification number (VIN) for any open recalls.
