Oshkosh S-Series Recall 19V092: Rear Strobe Lights Can Confuse Other Drivers, Raising Crash Risk

NHTSA campaign 19V092, reported February 15, 2019, 241 vehicles potentially affected.

What this recall means for you

Some Oshkosh S-Series Glider vehicles have a strobe light package in the rear fender that may have been installed in the rear fender marker light position. Because of this placement, the strobe lights may be misread by other drivers when signaling their presence or intentions. The vehicles also do not comply with Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard 108, which governs lamps and reflective devices.

The strobe lights in this location can be wrongly interpreted by other drivers, which increases the risk of a crash.

Owners will be notified by Oshkosh, and the strobe lamp will be replaced with a steady-burning lamp at no charge. The recall began April 10, 2019. For questions, contact Oshkosh customer service at 1-888-686-7278, and check your vehicle identification number for any open recalls.
