Forest River Rockwood Recall 19V084: Bunk Door Latch May Fail and Open While Towing

NHTSA campaign 19V084, reported February 8, 2019, 85 vehicles potentially affected.

What this recall means for you

The fasteners securing the exterior bunk bed door latch on certain trailers may fail. If this happens, the door can open unexpectedly while the trailer is being towed.

An unexpectedly opened bunk bed door while the trailer is moving can increase the risk of a crash. Owners should stop using the bunk door until the repair is completed and avoid towing the trailer with that door unsecured.

Dealers will install the correct fasteners for the bunk bed door latches free of charge. Owners can contact Forest River customer service at 1-574-642-8943 (Forest River recall number 10D-0950), and should check their VIN for open recalls.
