Arcimoto FUV Recall 18V943: Headlights May Not Be Seen as a Motorcycle at Night

NHTSA campaign 18V943, reported December 31, 2018, 23 vehicles potentially affected.

What this recall means for you

The headlights on certain 2017-2018 Arcimoto FUV vehicles may be spaced too far apart, so oncoming drivers may not recognize the vehicle as a motorcycle in the dark. The vehicles also fail to comply with Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard 101 for lamps and reflective devices.

Because the vehicle may not be recognizable as a motorcycle at night, the risk of a crash is increased. Owners should take this recall seriously and avoid relying on the current headlight setup for visibility after dark until the repair is done.

Arcimoto will replace the headlights with supplemental amber marker lights and add fully compliant headlights mounted to the center of the frame, free of charge. Owners can contact Arcimoto customer service at 1-541-683-6293 and reference recall number 7F7-P6J5F-12. You can also check your VIN for open recalls.
